piracetam and choline

The psychoactive ingredients we consume every day can have a different impact on our brain and body while taking piracetam. Because piracetam is a mild altering substance, it interacts with things like alcohol and other substances that are important to know.

The number one substance that interacts with piracetam is choline because this is the precursor for the neurotransmitter, acetylcholine, which is responsible for memory formation. Piracetam increases uptake and utilization of acetylcholine in regions of the brain like the hippocampus, which are dedicated to memory formation.

This is one of the reasons piracetam and choline provide enhanced cognition greater than each of the individual parts. Finding the right ratio of choline and piracetam might be a harder task. The piracetam choline ratio explained is not simple because there are multiple types of choline. Hello,

There has been studies of piracetam in conjunction with anti-epilepsy medication (reference) in mice. The study shows that piracetam didn’t have adverse interactions with such medication. It was also studied in a small group of patients with Myoclonus Epilepsy and showed improvement as an add-on medication (reference). Anecdotal information suggests that piracetam should not be suddenly stopped by Myclonic patients as that can cause problems. However, for anyone that does take medication to reduce seizures, it would be highly recommended to consult with your physician before taking piracetam or any other racetams for that matter.
