According to researcher Aubrey de Grey, PhD, the closer we get to humans, the less impact fasting has in the trial… but he’s still a believer that we can live to 130 – 150 years.

The key (and yet counterintuitive) takeaways from these communities are the anti-aging benefits of doing the following:
- Life purpose
- Stress reduction
- Engagement in spirituality
- Engagement in family life
- Engagement in social life
Of the 9 most important things this author considered, 3 of them were related to relationships (to a higher power, to family, and to friends).
The classic examples from the book include people from Sardinia, Italy sipping on wine and enjoying the company of their friends and family.
It’s impossible to drill down on what specifically is causing the people in these regions to live to over 100 years old, but it is clear that things “outside the scientific box” are causing positive health effects. Humans are social creatures, which means that putting yourself around people regularly will go a long way in helping with aging.
Best Nootropics for Longevity

Nicotinamide riboside is a derivative of niacin (vitamin B3), which helps to produce NAD+, which is currently one of the ultimate anti-aging supplements available. Nicotinamide riboside helps to increase the health of our mitochondria, but goes way beyond that.
